Shri Kadri Gopoalnath is a Padma Shree award winner and has also been crowned with the name of ‘Saxophone Chakravarthy’ after years of mastering the complex instrument.

Shri Gopalnath clings his roots to Dakshin Kannada with music being an integral part of his life since a very early stage. Shri Kadri Gopalnath wanted to learn the saxophone instrument after hearing its vibrant tone in the Mysore Palace band set; he then trained under the guidance of Shri Gopalakrishna Iyer to learn playing Carnic music on the saxophone.
Shri Gopalnath has participated and mesmerized audiences around the world with concerts in Switzerland, United Kingdom, United States of America, Canada,  Australia, Germany, just to name a few. The maestro has also enthralled the masses in shows such as the Jazz Festival in Prague, Berlin Jazz Festival, International Cervantino Festival in Mexico, Music Halle Festival, and many more around the world.
Shri Gopalnath has won several accolades and awards in India and around the world including the Padma Shree award presented by the President of India in 2004 as well as the Kendriya Sangeet Natak Academy award in 2003 just to name a few.
Shri Gopalnath also takes pride in the work he has accomplished in his extensive musical career with several albums with great artists from all over the world including Mr. James Newton as well as Oscar winner Mr. A.R. Rahman.
